Want to know what you'd be good at jobwise? Want to know what your interests are, or what makes you click? The Community Learning Center of Martin County is now providing a full personal career assesment which will target your key areas of interest, and your critical aptitudes. Based on this information, a series of easy-to-understand reports are generated to assist each individual in planning for their education and career setting. Call Steve to set up an appointment to go through the CareerScope assessment.

01/03/2005 Proctoring Policies
Due to the significant increase of distance students proctoring services for examinations, the following guidelines will be standard effective January 3rd at Martin County. 1) ALL STUDENTS NEEDING PROCTORING SERVICES MUST FILL OUT A LEARNING CENTER PROCTOR REQUEST FORM. 2)ALL PROCTORED EXAMS MUST BE SCHEDULED WITH THE FULL OR PART TIME COORDINATOR ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE (7 DAYS)OF THE TEST. 3)ALL WRITTEN TESTS THAT NEED TO BE SENT BACK TO THE SCHOOL(S), STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE THE STAMPED/ADDRESSED ENVELOPE FOR MAILING. THE LEARNING CENTER WILL NOT SEND ANY EXAM(S) WITHOUT THIS PROVIDED.

10/31/2004 2 New Distance Ed Program
Two new programs are now available to local residents by Internet through the Indiana College Network and Indiana State University. Program number one is the LPN to BSN which offers Licensed Practical Nurses a flexible pathway to earn a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Upon successful completion of this program, the Licensed Practical Nurse is awarded a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Indiana State University, and is eligible to apply for examination for licensure to practice as a registered nurse. The second program is the Transition to Teaching Program which is an 18-hour, graduate level program leading to licensure as a secondary teacher. Each Tuesday afternoon, the Martin County Community Learning Center works with the WorkOne- Bedford Office by providing their Customer Self-Service System. It allows people to be matched for job openings according to their interests and qualifications. Notification about job openings may come by phone or mail. Be sure your employment file is accurate and kept current. Updates must be done al least once every 60 days.

In today’s competitive business climate, a manager, owner or director cannot afford to waste time and money on training that does not fit the company’s needs. The Learning Center can deliver customized training for employees at a cost-effective rate by having your business join a local training consortium that is coordinated by specific needs. You can either train your staff right along with employees from other local companies, or by itself- which ever you desire. With state colleges and universities as the Community Learning Center’s partners, there are resources to provide almost any type of training your company needs.

Discover how the Community Learning Center can assist anyone in improving his/her knowledge, job skills- and do it both effectively and affordably. The program is designed to provide practical knowledge and skills a person can apply immediately on the job through basic training modules. These sessions are both interactive and very enjoyable.

At a very competitive cost, the Community Learning Center of Martin County offers a select variety of meeting/class rooms for business and community organizational purposes.
